LEGAZPI CITY – The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) reported on Saturday the confiscation of PHP2.6 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of a high-value individual during a buy-bust in Camalig, Albay on Friday.

PRO-5 Acting Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda identified the suspect as alias “Tony,” 36, a resident of Victory Village in Legazpi City.

The suspect was arrested after selling one knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated weight of approximately 50 grams and a street value of PHP340,000.

A subsequent body search by the arresting officers yielded four additional knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 346.71 grams and with an estimated street value of PHP2.3 million.

In total, authorities confiscated 396.71 grams of suspected shabu with a combined estimated street value of a little over PHP2.6 million.

The suspect was brought to Camalig Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Miranda commended the operating units for their successful coordination and reaffirmed PRO-5’s firm commitment to intensifying its campaign against illegal drugs. (PNA)
