MANILA – Police have arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized from him suspected shabu valued at PHP21 million in Pasig City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said on Thursday.
In a statement, NCRPO Chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the 25-year-old suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation 11:45 p.m. Wednesday along Kenneth Road, Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig.
The police seized 3.2 kilograms of suspected shabu with a standard drug price valuation of PHP21.76 million.
Also recovered were the marked buy-bust money —comprising one genuine PHP1,000 bill and 99 boodle bills— a black eco bag, a cellphone, a white motorcycle, a black backpack, and two digital weighing scales.
The arrested suspect is now under police custody, pending documentation and the filing of appropriate complaint for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
Aberin commended the operating team for their professionalism and tactical execution.
“This arrest reaffirms our commitment to an intelligence-driven and procedure-based anti-illegal drug campaign pursuant to the directive of PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III. With relentless anti-drug operations and swift police action, our objective is to remove the illegal drug menace in Metro Manila with the help of partner-agencies and the community,” Aberin said.
