MANILA – Authorities arrested four suspected drug dealers and seized about PHP51 million worth of shabu in separate anti-drug operations in Quezon City and Taguig on Monday.

In a news release on Tuesday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the first operation was conducted at 2:50 p.m. in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, where three suspects were arrested and around 7 kg. of shabu, valued at approximately PHP47.6 million, were confiscated.

PDEA identified the suspects as alias Ariel, 31; Eduard, 38; and Ibrahim, 45.

In a separate operation in Taguig City, PDEA agents, in coordination with police operatives, arrested another suspect, identified as Rasol, 40, at around 5 p.m. in Barangay Maharlika. Authorities seized about 500 grams of shabu from the suspect, with an estimated value of PHP3.4 million.

PDEA said the suspects will face charges for violations of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The agency reiterated its commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations and urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate in reporting illegal drug activities in their communities. (Christopher Lloyd Caliwan/PNA)
