MANILA – Malacañang on Tuesday dismissed reports of a supposed landing gear problem involving the airplane used by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the claim was not true, clarifying that there was no such incident during the First Lady’s recent trip.
“Kuryente lang po yun. Hindi po ‘yun totoo (That was just false information. That is not true),” she said.
Castro made the statement when asked about reports that the aircraft carrying the First Lady from Iloilo encountered a landing gear issue.
She did not provide further details but stressed that the supposed incident did not happen.
She said there were no safety concerns related to the flight of Araneta-Marcos.
Malacañang has yet to release additional information on the First Lady’s travel.
The First Lady was in Cebu over the weekend to attend events related to the Philippines’ hosting of the 2026 Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit and Related Summits. (PNA)
