CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Authorities on Wednesday arrested this province’s No. 3 most wanted person who has been on the lam since April last year, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon) reported on Thursday.
The suspect, Gerome Santiago, was arrested at about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday during a joint police operation at the Bulaon Resettlement in Barangay Bulaon, San Fernando, Pampanga.
PRO-3 said Santiago, a resident of Barangay Lourdes in Candaba town, was wanted for robbery with homicide.
“Santiago had been on the run since April 28, 2024, following his involvement in a robbery-homicide incident in Candaba, Pampanga, which resulted in the tragic death of Lavina Gulapa,” it said in a news release.
Santiago was wanted by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Rowena Rama-Chaves of the Pampanga Regional Trial Court Branch 47. He is under police custody as no bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
“Our relentless pursuit of lawbreakers continues, and let this serve as a warning: There is no safe place for criminals in Central Luzon,” PRO-3 Director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said as she lauded policemen for Santiago’s arrest. (PNA)
