ZAMBOANGA CITY – A series of coordinated anti-drug operations in the Zamboanga Peninsula resulted in the arrest of three drug suspects and the confiscation of some PHP3.4 million worth of shabu and a firearm.
Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Zamboanga Peninsula (PDEA-9), reported on Tuesday that the most significant drug seizure occurred in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, at approximately 5:25 p.m. Monday.
According to Tosoc, suspect “Val,” 30, was apprehended during a buy-bust in Purok Tunggo, Barangay Minaog, while in possession of 500 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million.
Authorities also recovered buy-bust money, weighing scales, an electronic sealer, a mobile phone, and various illegal drug paraphernalia from Bayubay.
Two other operations in Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay netted two suspects and shabu worth PHP55,000.
Tosoc expressed gratitude for the support provided by the police in all three successful operations conducted by PDEA-9. (PNA)
