MANILA – The Marcos administration’s anti-drug campaign has so far netted PHP60.13 billion worth of narcotics, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported on Friday.

The amount included 7,782.26 kg of shabu; 89.32 kg of cocaine; 136,916 pieces of ecstasy tablets; and 7,347.67 kg of marijuana seized from July 2022 to April this year, according to PDEA’s report.

The anti-narcotics body also said it conducted 107,568 operations across the country during the period which resulted in the arrest of 145,064 drug suspects, 9,283 of whom were high-value targets.

A total of 1,439 drug dens and four clandestine shabu laboratories were dismantled during the same period.

Meanwhile, 29,408 out of 42,000 villages have been declared drug-cleared while 6,103 are in the process of being cleared.

During his third State of the Nation Address in July last year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. pledged to continue the bloodless anti-narcotics drive, emphasizing that extermination is not a part of his administration’s campaign. (PNA)
