MANILA – The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) reported that three 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission lines in Luzon are unavailable as of 5 a.m. Sunday amid the onslaught of Super Typhoon Pepito (international name Man-yi).

In a social media post, NGCP said the transmission lines include the Naga-Libmanan 69kV Line, affecting the Camarines Sur I Electlric Cooperative, Inc. (CASURECO I); the Tiwi C-Pawa 69kV Line, affecting the Albay Electric Cooperative, Inc.(ALECO); and the Naga-Lagonoy 69kV Line affecting CASURECO IV and CASURECO II.

“NGCP has mobilized its line crews and is currently conducting patrols,” NGCP said.

“Simultaneous restoration activities are also being conducted in areas already accessible,” it added.

NGCP clarified that the list of unavailable transmission lines does not include those exclusively serving directly connected industrial customers.

“Specific cities and municipalities affected by the unavailable transmission facility are determined by concerned Distribution Utilities unless the outage affects the entire franchise area,” it said. (PNA)
