MANILA, Dec 2 (Mabuhay) – The Bureau of Immigration announced Friday it has deported an American national wanted in the US for trafficking and possession of illegal drugs.
Paul John Zambuto, 35, was put on board a Philippine Airlines flight to Los Angeles on Monday, Nov. 28.
He was arrested Nov. 17 by agents of the BI at his residence at Paseo Parkview Condominium on Valero Street, Makati City, after the US Embassy informed the BI that Zabuto has arrest warrants issued by courts in Arizona and Florida.
Zabuto has reportedly been on the watch list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation since 2007.
According to the US Embassy, a superior in Maricopa County, Arizona issued a warrant of arrest on August 2, 2007 against Zambuto for violating the conditions of his probation.
The said court has previously found him guilty of the crime of possession of dangerous drugs.
Zambuto’s other arrest warrant was issued by the judicial circuit court in Palm Beach County, Florida on charges of trafficking and possession of cocaine.
The US State Department has canceled Zambuto’s US passport before he arrived in Manila on Nov. 12, 2007.
Since he did not apply for extension of his tourist visa in the Philippines, he was also found to be illegally staying in the country for more than four years.  (MNS)
