“Tenny’s shots were solid. I told her to fight for every point. She’s in good shape, physicall and mentally,” PTA head coach Robert Angelo said after the match.
Madis won her first doubles title this year with South Korean Ui Su Jeong in Fujairah, also in UAE, last Jan. 11.
Last week, Madis and Guryleva fell to third seeds Alisa Terentyeva and Kharchenko, 6-4, 1-6, 11-9, in the semifinal.
Madis is currently No. 207 in the ITF Junior ranklings, both in singles and doubles categories.
The 17-year-old netter from M’lang town, North Cotabato province bagged six singles and five doubles titles last year. Four of her doubles titles were with PTA teammate Stefi Marithe Aludo in the J60 events in Manila, China, Thailand and Sri Lanka. (PNA)
