MANILA, Oct 3 (Mabuhay) –The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it will copy the strategy of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) in addressing the illegal drug problem in the country.

In a press conference, PNP chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said they will add some work to the government’s “war on drugs” as it already needs to level up.

“We wanted to copy ‘yung strategy natin sa NTF-ELCAC. It will be a holistic approach wherein every agency na kailangan ma-involve dito sa war on drugs natin will be presenting na kailangan sumama sila, so role playing ang gagawin natin,” he said.

Azurin said the PNP is crafting a new strategy for the war on drugs.

During his recent visit to Hawaii for a meeting with the United States Indo-Pacific Command, Azurin said they discussed improving the border control and security to prevent the entry of illegal drugs to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Azurin supported the suggestion of Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers to require actors to undergo drug tests after Dominic Roco was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.

He also encouraged networks to make drug test a requirement for their talents. (MNS)
