MANILA, May 5 (Mabuhay) –As voters prepare to head to polling places on May 9, 2022, Vice President Leni Robredo made an appeal to her supporters to make their vote count as well for her running mate, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and their Senate slate.

“Sa bawat Leni na iboboto, siguraduhin natin na ang vice president natin ay si Kiko Pangilinan.  At siguraduhin na ang ating senatorial slate ay isasama nyo,” she said in a campaign rally in Zamboanga del Norte.

“Hihingiin namin ang matamis ninyong oo at ang aming isusukli at isang malinis, mahusay at matapat napamamahala,” she added.

Pangilinan was represented in the Zamboanga rally by her daughter Frankie, as he had to attend another sortie.

Robredo has consistently stood by Pangilinan amid initiatives by some groups to pair her with vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

To this, Robredo had said, “As far as I am concerned, as far as the official campaign structure is concerned, ang aking vice president until the very end ay Kiko Pangilinan.”

Robredo rallied the Zamboanga resident to vote with their hearts and minds as the results of the May 9 elections will spell the future of the country.

“Sana sa pagdesisyon na isip at puso ang gagamitin hindi lang dahil sinabi ng ating public officials.  Alam ko susunod ang iba sa public ofificals pero alamin din natin, ano ba ang pinapaniwalaan. ‘Wag tayong magpapabudol kasi maraming fake news,” she said.

Before the filing of the certificate of candidacy, Pangilinan was eyeing a reelection, but said he felt the weight of the call of duty when Robredo asked him to be her running mate. (MNS)
