MANILA – The Senate has implemented precautionary measures following a bomb threat that was posted in the comment section of its social media account on Dec. 17, 2024.

While the threat is not deemed credible, Senate Spokesperson Arnel Jose Bañas said the safety of senators, employees, and visitors is prioritized.

He said the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms has since enforced additional security protocols, and the Senate premises underwent a thorough inspection by security and police personnel.

“We have instructed our Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms to work closely with concerned agencies regarding the matter,” Bañas said.

“The safety and security of everyone in the Senate is our utmost priority,” he assured.

The Senate has urged the public to cooperate as it enforces safeguard measures. (PNA)
