While most of her showbiz batchmates were pursuing their acting careers, former child wonder Serena Dalrymple was quietly focusing on her studies and has now earned her Master’s Degree in International Business at Hult International Business School in London.
She announced the milestone on Instagram by posting a photo of herself in graduation gown.
On finishing postgraduate education, Dalrymple told ABS-CBN News, “I realized that I still don’t know what I want to do… so I decided to take up master’s hoping it’ll help me figure things out.”
Dalrymple completed her undergraduate degree at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde in Manila then worked for a year in Los Angeles.
Her series of posts suggest that Dalrymple has left London and she is now in San Francisco, California with her sister.
Fans have been requesting for her to make a comeback in showbiz but Dalrymple will only return to the Philippines “for a vacation.”
In one of her posts on Facebook, she shared, “Before ako pumunta dito sa L.A may naginterview sakin asking ‘Babalik ka pa ba sa showbiz? kelan ka babalik?’ Natatawa ako sa tuwing may nagiinterview sakin ewan ko kung bakit?? hahahahah parang adik lang ako noh?!”
Dalrymple became a household name in the Philippines in the late ‘90s for one of her popular commercials. Among her many notable movies were “Tong Tatlong Tatay Kong Pakitong-kitong,” “Bata, bata… Paano ka ginawa?” and “Daddy O! Baby O!” Her last movie was with comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas in “Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last na ‘To!) which came out in 2010. (MNS)
