LEGAZPI CITY – The Land Transportation Office in Bicol (LTO-5) has issued a show-cause order to the driver of a fuel tanker involved in a road crash in Daraga, Albay that injured three individuals early this week.
LTO-5 spokesperson Jamie Roperes said the order is part of the investigation of LTO-Bicol and partner agencies.
“After the issuance of the show cause order, the driver involved needs to explain his side on what happened, and then a resolution and recommendation will be made by the legal officer to our regional director. The explanation is needed to determine if the driver’s license will be suspended,” she said in an interview Friday.
The LTO-Bicol called on motorists anew to be alert and responsible on the road.
“Road discipline is not only for oneself but for the safety of all,” she added.
An initial investigation by the Daraga Municipal Police Station showed that the tanker crashed into five vehicles on May 28.
The drivers and passengers of the other vehicles were rescued by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and taken to the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center. (PNA)
