Los Angeles – A team from the St. Vincent Medical Center will conduct a medical outreach program at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, every 1st Tuesday of the month for the last quarter of the year. The first outreach will be on 07 October 2014 from 9am to 12pm.
The medical outreach team from St. Vincent will provide:
Free screenings: Body Fat analysis/BMI, Glucose/Diabetes Screenings with Counseling, and Blood Pressure
Free services: Mammogram screening referrals, information on Low-Cost/Free Health Insurance such as Medi-Cal, information on Covered California/Affordable Care Act, information on chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and information on nutrition.
The medical outreach program is under the terms of the Memorandum of Agreement forged between the Philippine Consulate and St. Vincent on 05 February 2013 as a demonstration of the Consulate’s commitment to provide services to the Filipino community in Los Angeles in cooperation with the St. Vincent Medical Center.
