As part of her recently signed deal to be a Kapamilya star for another year, Sarah Geronimo may topbill a drama series or a sitcom in 2013.

The 24-year-old actress-singer, dubbed the country’s “Pop Star Princess,” signed a one-year contract with ABS-CBN last January 17. Geronimo’s career is managed by Viva Artists Agency, the talent management arm of local entertainment production company Viva Entertainment.

“Super happy, blessed at grateful po ako sa ABS-CBN dahil nanatili pa rin po akong isang Kapamilya. Wala naman po akong ibang gustong puntahan kundi dito,” she said.

“Kasama [sa contract] ‘yung weekly show, musical variety show at either teleserye or sitcom,” Geronimo said.

Explaining her desire to offer a new “genre” to her followers, Geronimo said she prefers to star in a sitcom this time around.

The “Star for a Night” champion first topbilled a TV series in 2004 via the teen-oriented soap, “Sarah: The Teen Princess.” In 2006, Geronimo starred alongside Zsa Zsa Padilla in another series titled “Bituing Walang Ningning.”

She would later take on lead roles in two music series in 2007 and 2010, via “Pangarap na Bituin” and “1DOL,” respectively.

Currently, Geronimo headlines her own concert variety program aired every Sunday, “Sarah G Live.” Because of the show, the actress-singer said she has become more creatively involved in her performances.

“Marami po talaga akong natutunan dahil sa show. Mas nagkaroon po ako ng boses sa mga gusto kong mangyari, at mas naging involved po ako sa pagpili ng songs at pag-isip ng nga segment,” she said.

Geronimo is currently gearing up for the March 30 release of “It Takes a Man and a Woman,” the third installment in her series of films co-starring John Lloyd Cruz. (MNS)
