MANILA, Nov 17 (Mabuhay) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) wants mall hours changed in Metro Manila to help ease the worsening traffic problem as the Christmas season approaches.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said he will meet with mall owners to discuss possible adjustments in mall operating hours.

Tolentino explained one proposal is for malls to open at different hours.

He said many road repairs and flood control projects are ongoing and some of them are near malls.

Meanwhile, the MMDA wants an explanation from the Department of Public Works and Highways regarding delayed road projects.

Tolentino said the DPWH should explain why some roadworks remain unfinished even though their deadlines have lapsed.

Tolentino claimed that 24 road projects were scheduled to end back in July and September but are still ongoing. (MNS)
