Toni Gonzaga’s boyfriend, director Paul Soriano, has expressed readiness to marry her but the actress-host said her personal life remains “on the sidelines” for now.

“It took me so long to get into the business. It took me 10 years, ‘yung struggling days ko just to get in, and now that I’m enjoying it – naka-10 years na by God’s grace – I’m looking forward to another 10, more years to come in the business,” Gonzaga told reporters on Wednesday.

“So ‘yung personal kong buhay, nasa sideline pa eh, hindi ko pa masyado pina-prioritize, dahil ang-ganda-ganda pa nung mga nangyayari, and also with Paul, with all the opportunities that he’s getting,” she added.

Dubbed “The Ultimate Multimedia Star,” Gonzaga has enjoyed numerous projects as a host, as an actress, and as a recording artist.

She is starring in an upcoming comedy film under Star Cinema, “This Guy’s In Love With You Mare.”

Soriano, who is a film director, also continues to earn acclaim for his big screen projects, most recently for the independent film “Thelma.”

He was named Best Director by the Film Academy of the Philippines’ (FAP) 30th Luna Awards this week for the movie.

“We’re here to support each other and to grow together,” Gonzaga said of their respective careers in the business.

The Kapamilya actress also acknowledged her partner’s statements of his willingness to settle down, but said he has expressed understanding that her career comes as a higher priority at this time.

“Palagi niyang sinasabi he’s ready, pero ako talaga kaunti na lang. Tingnan ko na lang what God has in store for me pa, then if He says it’s time, na pwede na ako mag-asawa, to make my own family, all in His time,” Gonzaga said.

“At naiintindihan naman niya (Soriano) ‘yon. Ang hirap rin kasi when this is what you’ve dreamed of all your life, and then you just give it up right away” she added.  (MNS)
