MANILA – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Wednesday night confirmed that a U.S. Air Force C-146 aircraft got involved in an accident while taking part in a joint roadway landing exercise in Laoac, Pangasinan on Feb. 24.
“All pilots and crew were immediately accounted for and are safe. No civilians were injured,” the AFP said in a statement.
The AFP did not provide other details concerning the accident.
“The activity (joint roadway landing exercise) was conducted in a controlled training environment as part of ongoing efforts to enhance interoperability and preparedness for humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and national defense operations,” it said.
It also added that the incident is currently under investigation, and further details will be provided as appropriate. (PNA)
