Actress Sunshine Cruz is finding it difficult to adjust to the life of a single mom, but added that learning how to stand up on her own two feet has made her stronger.
The 36-year-old shared the changes that happened in her life since her separation with actor Cesar Montano.
“Natuto ako ngayon maging independent cause when I was young, I was so dependent on my mom and then dumating siya sa buhay ko, naging dependent ako sa kanya,” she said.
The two separated in January 2013 over the actor’s alleged affair with model-actress Krista Miller, after 13 years as a married couple. Just this May, the actress filed a petition seeking an annulment.
“At least natututo ngayon tayong magtipid.
Cruz, despite the added burden of being a single mother, maintained that she feels blessed to have her three children—Angeline, Samantha, and Angel—in her life.
“I’m so blessed. Sa ngayon talaga wala naman akong mahihiling pa,” she said.
The actress explained that part of her decision to end the marriage was for the sake of her children and hoped that they would not have to go through the same thing should they decide to marry.
The actress said that she has no regrets about the annulment, knowing that she did everything she could to save the relationship.
“Pag talagang nakikita niyo na wala nang pinatutunguhan at mas gumagrabe pa ang sitwasyon, aba eh habang maaga pa at sexy pa tayo, at bata pa tayo, eh tigilan na natin,” she said.
Asked if she has already moved on from the relationship, the actress said: “Yes, matagal na. I want us to be friends. Yung ang prayer namin every night ng mga kids na sooner or later, na kahit hindi man friends, maging civil man kami.” (MNS)
