19, Julia Montes has portrayed characters way beyond her years, among them a scorned wife in the period drama “Ikaw Lamang.”

Montes has since left the primetime hit after her character, Mona, died tragically. Now, the former child star is setting sights on a role she considers a dream project.

Montes mentioned the 2000 family drama film “Anak” as an inspiration for a movie she is hoping to do in the near future.

The Star Cinema film starred Vilma Santos as a domestic helper in Hong Kong who returns to the Philippines, only to find out that her efforts overseas to provide for her family has estranged her from her children.

For now, Montes is gearing up for a horror movie with Gerald Anderson. Montes said she is still adjusting to the heartthrob actor as a first-time co-star.

While Montes has had numerous leading men onscreen, this is not the case in real life, the actress said. According to Montes, she is not even entertaining suitors at this time.

She explained: “Ang work ko ang love life ko.”

Montes was last romantically linked with actor Enchong Dee, who has admitted being in a relationship with fashion model Samantha Lewis. (MNS)
