BACOLOD CITY – Anti-drug agents of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested three drug suspects in a buy-bust that yielded PHP1.7 million worth of shabu inside a hotel in Barangay Singcang-Airport on Tuesday.
The suspects were identified as alias “Fredo,” 51, and his client alias “Iya,” 18, both of Barangay Mansilingan; and an alias “Shaba,” 23, also a buyer from Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Lt. Richard Legada, assistant chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said “Fredo” supplies the prohibited substance to the two female suspects.
“Both of them are his customers. They pay him either with money or shabu. Alias Fredo delivers illegal drugs within Bacolod,” Legada said in a radio interview.
Minutes before 7 a.m., the suspects transacted with an undercover cop in one of the rooms of the hotel, police report showed.
Operatives recovered from the suspects 250 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of PHP6,800 per gram.
Tuesday morning’s buy-bust was part of the BCPO’s series of anti-drug operations since last week.
On Jan. 17, the CDEU seized 300 grams of shabu worth PHP2.04 million from two female suspects in Purok Laurel, Barangay Mansilingan and 115 grams of the same prohibited substance valued at PHP782,000 from a male student in Barangay Handumanan.
A woman identified as alias “Jo” yielded also 250 grams of shabu amounting to PHP1.7 million during a buy-bust in Rosal, Barangay Taculing on Jan. 18. (PNA)
