MANILA – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested 311 suspects, including most wanted persons and fugitives, and seized PHP816 million worth of illegal goods in operations from April 6 to 12.

In a statement Wednesday, CIDG chief Maj. Gen. Robert Morico II said the gains were made under Oplan OLEA (Other Law Enforcement Activities), targeting crime and illicit trade.

Authorities confiscated illegal and counterfeit items such as unauthorized LPG products, fake medicines, unregistered vape products, and smuggled cigarettes.

Under the campaign against wanted persons, 152 individuals were arrested by virtue of warrants for offenses including murder, rape, carnapping with homicide, and theft, among others.

Of these, 28 were regional most wanted persons, 39 were provincial most wanted, and 23 were listed at the city or municipal level.

In separate operations against loose firearms, CIDG arrested 44 suspects for violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

Seized were 45 unlicensed firearms, including two submachine guns, one 5.56 mm rifle, and 42 small arms, along with 11 explosives such as hand grenades and rifle grenades. (PNA)
