MANILA – Police have intensified their manhunt for the suspects behind Tuesday’s shooting incident that left two people dead along Timog Avenue corner EDSA in Quezon City.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño presented photos and video footage of two suspects taken after the shooting.

“Tiniyak po ni Chief PNP Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez ang patuloy na pagtutok ng PNP sa kasong ito at sa mabilis na pag-aresto sa mga suspek (Chief PNP Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez assures the public of the PNP’s continued focus on this case and the immediate arrest of the suspects),” he said.

Tuaño added that anyone with information on the suspects is encouraged to call the government 911 hotline.

The two victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds after being attacked by two unidentified suspects riding a motorcycle. The suspects were reportedly wearing helmets and casual clothing, with the back rider identified as the gunman who used an undetermined caliber of firearm.

QCPD Station 10 chief Lt. Col. Zachary Capellan, in the same briefing, said investigators recovered the suspects’ abandoned motorcycle at Scout Rallos, along with discarded helmets. The suspects also reportedly changed clothes before fleeing.

He added that the motorcycle’s license plate was found to be fake, and investigators are looking into a possible motive linked to the victims’ business interests.

“With the immediate creation of the special investigation team, under the leadership of our District Director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio, tinututukan ang imbestigasyon na ito ay ongoing ang ginagawang follow-up operation (this investigation is being closely monitored, and follow-up operations are ongoing),” Capellan said.

Initial investigation also indicated that one of the victims was a businessman. (PNA)
