ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities have launched a manhunt operation to arrest the suspects behind the killing of an education official in Zamboanga Sibugay province on Thursday night In a report Friday,

Zamboanga Sibugay police director Col. Barnard Danie Dasug identified the victim as Rey Dalaota Camaingking, 45, a district supervisor of the Department of Education (DepEd) in Alicia town.
Dasugo said Camaingking was shot dead around 7:20 p.m. in Sitio Guicam, Barangay Dawa-Dawa.
“Initial investigation revealed that while the victim was walking at the Guicam Port, two unidentified persons suddenly approached the victim and shot him in the head with a .45-caliber pistol,” Dasugo said in his report.
The perpetrators sped off on a motorcycle toward Barangay Kawayan.
Dasugo said the police units in Zamboanga Sibugay were alerted to help in the manhunt.
Police investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the attack. (PNA)
